Low Testosterone

If you're a man between 40 and 70 and the symptoms below feel familiar, low testosterone could be the reason. The good news: it's measurable, and it's treatable.

Low testosterone can quietly dim a man's sex drive, his performance in bed, his energy and his motivation, and it rarely arrives all at once. It creeps.

Do these sound familiar?

If you recognise several of the symptoms below, it's worth having your testosterone level checked.

  • Decreased sex drive
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Reduced strength & endurance
  • Sleep problems
  • Increased breast size (gynecomastia)
  • Loss of body hair
  • Emotional instability

Not sure? Take our obligation-free, completely anonymous "Could I Have Low Testosterone?" quiz. If you recognise these symptoms, have your level checked and claim your free consultation and evaluation.

Low energy, low mood and a flat drive are often dismissed as "just ageing", but they're frequently a hormonal problem with a real solution.

Total testosterone isn't the whole story

Experienced doctors measure what's called free testosterone, the amount of the hormone that is actually active in your body at a given time. A man whose total testosterone sits in the "normal" range can still have every classic symptom of low T if his free testosterone comes up short. Free testosterone is far more indicative of your true status.

Why testosterone declines

Testosterone peaks during adolescence and early adulthood. As you get older it gradually declines, typically about 1% per year after age 30. In older men, it's important to determine whether a low level is simply normal ageing, or whether it's driven by a disease (hypogonadism). That distinction changes everything about how you should be treated.

Get tested

Low testosterone is becoming more and more common in adult men, partly because of widespread nutritional deficiencies (especially vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc and magnesium), and partly because of environmental exposure to chemical toxins in pesticides and plastics. Many of these chemicals are estrogen mimickers that suppress testosterone. Talk to our doctors, they could provide your Low T answer.
